the trickle down

All Note This Tis A Sign

From newsaskew.com (the news website that pulls all of your View Askew and Kevin Smith news into a convenient pouch):

The January Comedy Central schedule is kinda slim, but here goes. Seems January 23rd is a big View Askew day:

JASBSB (uncut version) airing on 1/23/05 @ 1-3:30am
    Dogma airing on 1/23/05 @ 11am-1:30pm
    Dogma airing on 1/23/05 @ 5:30-8pm
    JASBSB (edited) airing on 1/23/05 @ 8-10pm
Check that out! On my birthday, Comedy Central will be airing to two View Askews they currently hold the rights to. Ain't that something? I'm excited, are you excited? Well I suppose it is over two months away, but it's pretty exciting the way I see it. Now what's left but to count the days?

And Oh Yeah..

I dug out an old poem from this summer and posted to fatdog: "Anticipation"

Settling Down for a Change

While there's more testing on the horizon (and thereby more studying), I have completed the GRE Computer Science subject test. It was a demon. It was gnashing its teeth and being generally disgusting, but it's done. And I *think* I did pretty well. I refrained from making the guesses I always am apt to do and I know that my score will benefit from this improved style of answering.

Now I've got one more go at the general GRE this Friday and then we'll see what my chances of getting in anywhere are.

Destressing a bit.

Rock

Some high-quality recordings of Monica's Ghost are available in MP3 format for your listening pleasure (or displeasure).

http://udel.edu/~fatdog/ghost/

Two tracks are there: a cover of I Like Punk Rock by Dibs and Green Caravan, which you may have read the words to back on fatdog. There'd be more music up, but I don't have loads of time and/or server space for now. Let me know what you think.

Gig Bag

I received a new gig bag for my bass. It's mustard. It's tweed. It's hot. Rocked this afternoon real quick with Tony, H, and Kasey. It was great. Chris needs to get back in the beat with us (damn busy schedules) because there's a serious rock fusion lately.

Maybe we'll eventually get some studio going. We may be able to record ourselves at higher quality using the new public address, soon. That'll all be useful as we head to the studio at the end of this term or beginning of next.

Peace out.

New

Fatdog. It's getting redone. As soon as I really dedicate to the framework that's mostly written. I've been terrible at such time management this term. I will improve. Or at the very least, I vow to improve.

There is a new piece up, though: the stack to-do

It's not much, but it's something.

I Am In Shock

I am in shock. When I think about it, it's not at all shocking that president Bush was able to win the election. I knew (as all of us did) that his job approval rating was about middle-of-the-road and that there are many conservative people that back him for many different reasons.

But I am shocked at just how convincingly he did it. How did he take that much more of the popular vote? How did Kerry not rally the support of the new voters turning out? With such high turnout, it seemed Kerry would have the upper hand.

At any rate, life does go on, and more of the same isn't the end of the world. Maybe some things will transpire over the next four years that will make the country really put the president in check. We need this war to have a graceful end and we need tons of work when it comes to foreign policy in general. Yadda yadda... I'm no political analyst.

There you have it. All was decided by Ohio... as predicted.

A Vote for George Bush is a Vote for Sports Ignorance

You should not vote for George Bush because his crazy Christian and conservative ideals pour over into such topics as baseball and sports, where some progressive ideas should be accepted:

Look at him pretending to care about the kids - even at a baseball game:

The guy's completely against reinstatement of Pete Rose for the old and inadequate reason. Hell, we let all sorts of enhancement drug abusers still play these days... how can we keep the man with the career hits record out of the hall of fame. HE HELPED THE PHILLIES WIN THEIR ONLY WORLD SERIES! HE MUST BE REINSTATED. Yet, Bushy thinks:

"I believe Pete Rose should not be reinstated. Because I don't think he has come clean. Listen, the guy's a great player, no question about it. But I think Pete Rose needs to say that he had a problem and the problem is that he recognizes it, apologizes for it and recognizes the damage done to the game of baseball before [he's] admitted into the Hall of Fame, and he hasn't done that." ~ ESPN, Nov 1, 2004

And come on... look at his face:

It screams "I'm going to rape your country and laugh about it with some rich oil dude from some country I don't know the name of while I'm striking a deal for myself. Texas style!"

GET OUT AND VOTE

A Vote for John Kerry is a Vote for Hockey

Reason one to vote Kerry today: A vote for John Kerry is a vote for hockey! He's a lifetime lover, supporter, and player of the most exciting popular sport we've got:

A man with a love of hockey is a man we need in office. I'm completely serious.
